Translate Drawings, E-books, and Technical Documents: LanTMS v1.0.7 Supports 61 File Formats

Good news! LanTMS v1.0.7 adds support for DWG, DXF, EPUB, MD, and other file formats. Document Translation now supports a total of 61 file formats.
With this update, more source files can be uploaded directly to LanTMS, reducing the time spent converting files, extracting content, and restoring layouts before and after translation. Here is a closer look at the newly supported formats.
New Formats for More Business Content
-DWG / DXF: Engineering Drawings and Design Files
DWG and DXF are widely used in architecture, mechanical engineering, industrial manufacturing, and other technical fields. These files often contain drawing annotations, structural information, equipment names, and professional descriptions.
When the original drawing format is not supported, users may need to take screenshots, export the file as a PDF, or manually extract the text before translation. After translation, they must also check for missing content and misplaced text.
With support for DWG and DXF, engineering documents, equipment drawings, manufacturing instructions, construction materials, and project deliverables can enter the document translation workflow more directly.

-EPUB: E-books, Publications, and Long-form Content
EPUB is commonly used for e-books, digital publications, industry materials, training content, and other long-form documents. These files usually contain tables of contents, chapters, and multiple heading levels.
Copying only the body text into a translation tool can disrupt the original structure and make later review and delivery more difficult. Users may also need to rebuild the table of contents and reformat each chapter manually.
With EPUB support, users can upload digital publications directly for translation, reducing the work required to copy content, reorganize chapters, and restore the original layout. It is particularly useful for multilingual content with long text and complex chapter structures.

-MD: Technical Documentation, Developer Guides, and Help Centers
MD, or Markdown, is widely used by technical teams for developer documentation, API references, README files, product help centers, and knowledge bases.
Markdown files often contain headings, lists, links, code blocks, tables, and formatting syntax. Copying the content into a standard translation tool may damage the original formatting and document structure.
With MD support, technical documents can enter the translation workflow directly, reducing copy-and-paste work and manual reformatting.

Document Translation Now Supports 61 File Formats
With this update, LanTMS Document Translation now supports 61 file formats.
The supported formats cover office documents, images, web content, subtitles, localization files, engineering drawings, e-books, and technical documentation.
doc、docx、xls、xlsx、ppt、pptx、pdf、txt、jpg、jpeg、jfif、png、gif、bmp、dcx、djvu、djv、jb2、jp2、jpc、j2k、pcx、tif、tiff、wdp、docm、odt、json、ott、xltx、xlsm、xltm、ots、otp、potx、pptm、ppsm、potm、html、htm、xml、sdlxliff、idml、xliff、dita、wps、dot、dotx、et、dps、rtf、xlf、mqxliff、eml、csv、srt、svg、dxf、epub、md、dwg
The supported formats can be grouped into the following categories:
- Office documents: Word, Excel, PPT, PDF, TXT, and other formats for contracts, reports, manuals, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Images and scanned files: JPG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, and other formats for screenshots, scanned documents, and image-based materials.
- Web and structured files: HTML, HTM, XML, JSON, and other formats for web content, structured text, and system-exported files.
- Localization and publishing files: SDLXLIFF, XLIFF, XLF, IDML, DITA, and other formats for software localization, publishing content, and multilingual project delivery.
- Subtitle and multimedia files: SRT and related formats for subtitle translation and video localization workflows.
- Specialized formats: DWG, DXF, EPUB, MD, and other formats for engineering drawings, digital publications, and technical documentation.
A More Consistent Workflow for Multiple File Formats
Product materials may be delivered in Word, quotations in Excel, presentations in PPT, and manuals in PDF. A project may also include HTML web pages, SRT subtitle files, Markdown technical documentation, or DWG and DXF engineering drawings.
When these formats must be processed in separate tools, project managers need to convert files, extract content, organize translations, and merge the results repeatedly. This adds extra work and makes it harder to apply the same terminology databases, translation memories, and quality assurance rules across the project.
LanTMS allows users to upload, translate, review, and export multiple file formats on the same platform. This keeps project files and translated deliverables easier to organize and manage.
Additional Experience Improvements
LanTMS v1.0.7 also includes the following improvements:
- Improved image translation preview experience.
- Enhanced translation generation stability.
- Optimized terminology database and translation memory integration.
- Added theme switching with light mode, dark mode, and multiple color themes.
LanTMS will continue to improve its document translation, language asset management, project collaboration, and quality assurance capabilities. Thank you for choosing LanTMS.
